Aspiring Travel Writers of the Week: Gessell Wolitski
Blog Name & Start Date: Gessell + Lee: A Family Travel Blog was started as a personal blog January 2014 and launched as a family travel blog in May of 2016.
Bio: Gessell + Lee is about two American expats and their baby. They plan to take on the world one vacation at a time. Having a child didn’t slow them down. Join them as they travel the world with a baby in tow. Learn from their experiences about where to go, what to see, and how to do it with a family.
I consider myself a travel blogger. Currently I am a part time blogger but I would love to be able to make my family travels a full time gig. I am passionate about traveling and love being able to take my daughter around the world to explore new experiences. When I am not travel blogging I am working as a home health nurse.
Where do you call home? Amsterdam!
Countries visited: 15 and counting.
Continents visited: 3
Top 5 destinations on your travel to do list: Anywhere and everywhere. I find it way too hard to decide. Whenever I get to look at other travel blogs I discover new places for my travel list.
Favorite Travel Blogs: Our world heritage and http://thenextsomewhere.com/
The trip that turned me from a vacationer to a traveler: For me, my defining trip was when I went to Scotland. My now husband and I went to Scotland when we were still dating. We were so enamored with the beauty of the country that we knew we needed to find a way to be able to travel the world more. It was because of this trip that we sold everything and moved to Europe.
The trip that turned me into a travel blogger: I became a family travel blogger after the birth of my daughter. I love to do research and plan out our holidays. After the birth of my daughter, I realized just how different planning a family holiday was from planning for just two adults. I wanted to write about my experiences to help other moms out there who may be experiencing the same thing.
My favorite tool/app for social media: Later.com I love how easy it makes scheduling posts for Instagram. Having a baby keeps me busy and this tool helps me to be more productive with the little spare time that I have.
Organizations I belong to: Travel Massive.<
If only I had the time, I’d………. I am currently writing a family travel guide to Amsterdam. That is what I am struggling to finish at the moment. There just doesn’t seem to be enough time in the day to write. Plus, I keep adding sections to the guide. But, I will get it out there soon. Besides my weekly blog posts, it is my top writing priority.
